I Slept Well (50 for 50 #13)

A Monday night in Nottingham – taking the train straight after work and an early train back again the next morning; 15 hours in Nottingham but very much in the spirit of the 27 Hours in Twizel blog.

There was enough time to say hello to Robin Hood (or at least his statue by the castle), see the (possibly) oldest inn in England, have a quick wander around the Winter Wonderland in the city centre, drink a cocktail, have a bath, then enjoy a good night’s sleep – the aches and pains from my fall finally easing, black eye fading, finding answers to questions I haven’t figured out how to ask (according to Fox Mulder anyway – the truth is out there obviously!).

Up early the next morning; time to capture the sunrise over the Council House dome (and the car park next door to our hotel), then back to the station via the canal towpath and home again on the train.

It wasn’t the trip originally planned, but it was just what was needed – I definitely slept well and Mr T enjoyed his trip to watch Death Cult too. I gave that one a miss!
