A last minute plan for a night in Liverpool – another there and back in less than 24 hours following our overnight in Nottingham earlier in November and finding answers with Deacon Blue in October. We seem to be making a habit of mini-adventures at the moment, and trying to make the most of every minute of our trip.
So we had dinner at the Baltic Market – I came here a few years ago and was just pleased that I managed to find it again! I l love a food court – especially ones with an international flavour and a buzzing atmosphere – and Baltic Market didn’t disappoint. We lingered over our food and cocktails – a belated anniversary treat.

We’d also discovered that close to Baltic Market, just around the corner, was something else we love – mini-golf – or Golf Fang as this location was named. From the website, it looked slightly different than our usual golf challenges – and it was Friday night in Liverpool – but we are here, so we decided to give it a go.
And it didn’t disappoint… a giant teddy bear guarding the entrance to the first hole, neon lighting, a minion in the bar, holes with donuts, a drive through, circus themes, a pinball machine, a Jeremy Kyle tv set and even a few adult themes – quite difficult to describe a mini-golf hole based around an “adult entertainment” store without lots of ****!

It was a close game, but for the first time in a while, I got the win, helped very much by 4 holes in one! Clearly, I’ve found my perfect course.

We rounded off our little adventure with a parkrun catch-up with friends, a Ringo Starr memorial, a mooch around the docks and an excellent brunch, before braving the trains home…

A winner of a weekend all round.
