I’m almost at the end of 50th birthday blogging challenge… but there’s still time for a couple more adventures. I’m not 51 yet!
This morning, the alarm was set for 6am – the last time I was up this early was for the start of the London to Brighton ultra.
Not quite such a frantic or nervous start today – a stress-free drive to the airport (thanks to the very chilled out taxi driver) and no queues at check-in.
Dream start to our journey.

The only thing in common with ultramarathon day is the energy bars in my hand luggage – turns out they show up as liquids on the scanners at Manchester Airport. That meant a slight delay in our progress through security and into the departure lounge.
But only a slight delay.
We’ve got time for a coffee and a wander around the duty free shop.
There’s time for starting a new book – I like a new book for the airport.
There’s time to make a few plans for the next few days.
There’s even time to write this post.
We’ve checking in. And now we’re chilling out.
We’re on our way to Helsinki.
We’ve got a party to go to and friends to meet up with.
There are places to explore. And a parkrun to do.
I’ve checked in, and I’m ready for the next adventures begin.
50 for 50 #47: 50 posts for my 50th birthday to be posted before I’m 51.
